Moving is widely considered to be one of the most stressful life events in our lives. However, there is an awful lot to sort out. It doesn't matter if you are only moving around the corner; the process is the same as if you were across state lines. As soon as you know you are moving, begin creating a moving checklist. 

On this list, write everything you need to do, from contacting removal firms to getting quotes and booking a date that world for you. This needs to be done fairly sharpish, especially if you are interstate moving, so you get the exact date you need. You will have to contact many companies, doctors, optometrists, etc., to ensure that you get everything closed down and reopened at the new place when you arrive. Organization can prevent a lot of stress, as you are giving yourself the time to remember to do everything you need to do.

Declutter First

Before you think about packing anything, you need to declutter. This process can take a long time. It may take longer if you feel an emotional attachment to some of the items in your house, which prevents you from doing what needs to be done.
