01) DOMS

Have you ever felt that lingering soreness in your muscles a day or two after a workout? Well, whether you were aware of it or not, you've experienced Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness or DOMS. This issue is caused by lactic acid buildup because you did not adequately stretch following the workout. Knowing the best ways to prevent DOMS, whether stretching or taking a bath to relieve muscle pressure, can help you avoid injuries and stay consistent with your workouts.

02) Foot Problems

Aside from the apparent causes of foot problems, like dropping a dumbbell on your toes, you could encounter other foot issues while working out. One of the most common problems is ingrown toenails, which are caused by the pressure and friction when running on the treadmill, especially if your shoes are too tight.

Other foot issues include plantar fasciitis, which affects your heel and can happen for various reasons. It causes immense pain if you do not take action to treat it quickly.

03) Shin Splints

Similarly, shin splints may also affect you. This happens during repeated and overly intense activity, which often happens if you’re new to working out as you may not understand your limit and even overestimate your abilities. Shin splints could also occur because the surface you exercise on is not as forgiving as it could be, especially if running. Hard ground–like the pavement–puts extra pressure on your shins whenever your feet hit the floor.

04) Restricted Motion

Exercising too much can impact your mobility. This could be caused by soreness or injury and can severely impact your life outside the gym if your job requires you to move around a lot or pick things up, such as a retail store or warehouse.

Restricted motion can also make it difficult to get to sleep, so you suffer in another way that could affect your overall health. Poor motion can strain your shoulders and stomach, so if you twist and turn in bed, you may struggle to sleep through the night.

05) Muscle Tears

Overexertion risks muscle tears. In most cases, you’ll know you have torn a muscle because you will be in immense pain almost immediately. However, smaller tears could also occur, so if you feel slight pain, look for bruising or swelling around your arms or chest, since this is where you’re most likely to experience muscle injuries. To prevent them, ease into lifting heavier weights, and if you feel like you’re struggling, put the weights down immediately and try something lighter.
